Jazz and latin piano. How did I get here? Hmmm... There has always been music, but in the mid-1990s I started playing jazz piano and began playing Cuban music after my first trip to Cuba in 2000. Studying jazz with Jerome Gray in Seattle encouraged me to play music from the heart; studying with the best Cuban pianists in Cuba pushed my technique and rhythm. Since 2000, I have been a member of the big band, SWOJO (Seattle Women's Jazz Orchestra) and in 2004, I formed CocoLoco - a quartet playing music of Cuba and South America with an infusion of rock, jazz and pop. Energy and expression drive my piano playing and composition.

    Hi Ann
Just stopping by to say hello. I hope all is going well. Anne and I saw some of the Cuba crowd in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. We had fun dancing Cuban salsa. Wish you were there.

Yes you do know where that eye came from---it protects the energy in Callejon de Hamel. Glad you liked the track as well. The vocals actually came from a cumbia I was trying to write, but I just dropped the samples into that groove.
