Anniversaire formed in the Spring of 2008 with the release of their debut EP, "From the Barren Creek Bed." Founding members Aaron Jordan, Benjamin Eberly and Travis Ahrenholtz spent the Winter of 2007/2008 discussing their inspirations and aspirations and were immediately excited about the concept of taking Jordan's classical background and colliding it with the rock background of Ahrenholtz and Eberly. The result was an almost uncontrollable outpouring of original material ranging from bombastic marches, to an Eastern European dirge, from ethereal soundscapes to sombre hymns to jazzy chaos and everything in between. The addition of Megan Siebe on cello completed their lineup and Anniversaire has been steadily booking shows in the Midwest, playing with the likes of Sleeping at Last, David Dondero, Appleseed Cast, Mae and Portugal the Man. Their energetic live shows and unique musicality have earned comparisons to Sigur Ros, Cursive and Death Cab for Cutie. They recently finished recording their debut, full-length record at Bright Eyes' ARC studio in Omaha, Nebraska with a scheduled fall release. In 2009 Anniversaire was nominated alongside Conor Obert & the Mystic Valley Band for Best Alternative/Indie for the Omaha Entertainment & Arts Awards.

i know everyone talks about that huge bass drum, but if we had one of those, i'd say the entire band could fit and we'd just tour in it. the next town would always have to be downhill though.

Hey saw you guys at the The Waiting Room the other night and you guys were awesome, I really enjoyed the Cello, Huge Bass Drum, and the Bass, keep up the awesome work guys.

I love MySpace for the bands, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it just causes more drama on the social front than necessary. So, I avoid it and it all works out fine. :) I'll be sure to friend you guys on facebook/follow you on twitter and whatnot. The next time I see you guys I'll have to pick up that DVD for sure! :)
