Ann Whitaker DOG NANNY is finally officially unleashed to the public. Posted at 10:14 PM Jun 13 view more
In a former life, I was a high school and college English teacher in Abilene. Since 2002, I’ve lived in Waco, Texas—"the Bermuda Triangle of News"—with my journalist husband and two dogs: Jolie Blon, a spoiled Cajun poodle, and Mardi Gras, a retired pet therapy dog.
My romantic comedy, Dog Nanny, is AVAILABLE NOW at www.amazon.com and www.bn.com. On June 12 it will be available in print or electronic form at The Wild Rose Press. It’s the story of a doggy do-gooder with one month to save two delinquent poodles from becoming doggies of divorce. But when she meets a hunky pilot who leaves her panting for more, she wonders if she’ll have to put a choke chain on him before the month is out.
I’ve completed three other novel manuscripts and am working on a collection of slice-of-life essays about everything from a 350-pound roofer to a love affair with a kitchen sink. I think of it as chicken-fried Nora Ephron.
Much of my writing has seen publication in magazines, newspapers, and literary journals.
Songwriter David Allan Coe says the perfect country and western song has to have certain elements: Mama, trains, trucks, prison, and gettin’ drunk. My stories always have a dog.
Yes, I was thinking that when I added you. Us Ann's without e's have to stick together. Your novel sounds like a fun, lighthearted read. I'm adding it to the list!
Thank you for the friendship. I am inviting you to check out my fiction blog. I post new stories on a regular basis.
