april 12th is going to be the last time you’ll be able to see another day down live ever again.
we thought we should make it really clear that although we’re calling the april 12th princess show another day down’s final ever show, we, as a band are not breaking up. what’s happening is that we’re changing our name and songs and moving ahead as a new band.
as we were approaching eric leaving the band and making decisions regarding who would sing we realised that the songs we’d played for so long that eric sang just didn’t work without him singing them. also, as we continued writing without eric our music took a turn in a new direction.
we’ve made some big changes, davo is going to put down his bass and take up lead singing duties. also, for those of you who know us well, you’ll know rowan, the sixth member of another day down who goes everywhere we go, gets none of the credit and looks after our live sound. row’s leaving the sound desk up the back to jump on stage playing keys and samples and whatever else he can figure out makes sweet noises. we’re still in the process of finding a new bass player but as we look we’re writing heaps and solidifying the new sound.
as the band another day down we have always appreciated the support that so many of you have shown us over the years. we know that our new music is going to be really different from our old music and we hope that you’ll enjoy the new sound we’re producing and that you’ll continue to support us in the future.
it’ll be a few months before we’re playing again but we’ll let you know over myspace and really hope that you’ll still like the music and continue to support us as we take this new direction.
we really want to make april 12th huge both because it’s eric’s last show as well as the night that we say goodbye to all our old songs. if you can be in brisbane that night, we’d love to have you there to sign off on another day down and welcome the as yet unnamed new band.
tickets will be available from all the regular places - rockinghorse, kill the music or online - get in early because they’ll be $13+bf presale or $16 so save yourself a few bucks and get in early. as an incentive for you guys to get tickets early, we’ll be selling “i watch a world” eps for only $2 to anyone who shows their ticket at the merch table on the night.

Hey Boi's, You may or may not know that Brad (the guitar guy with spikey hair) has decided to leave our band and pursue other directions. We are now very keen to find a replacement for our band. We are looking at taking on 2-3 new members to accomodate our evolving sound. Immediately however, we are looking for a gutairist to help us with our upincoming schedule. If you know of anyone who plays guitar (priority) or keyboard and would like to play in an established band (in Brisbane) could you please let them / us know so we can organise an audition.
