Another Option (Kick off show 6/11 @ The New W

Hailing from Southern New England, Indie rock outfit Another Option has almost a decade of history under their belts. The band started when founding members Kyle Therrien (Vocals and Guitar) and Andrew Calheta (Vocals and Bass) were in junior high school. The band put out records and played shows consistently around New England until they were old enough to drive. As soon as they turned 16 they were packing their equipment into the trunks of cars and mini-vans,touring up and down the east coast, mid-west and just about anywhere they could book a show. The band experienced numerous lineup changes but was really able to step up their game when the band welcomed guitar player Ryan Flinn and current drummer Ian Provost to the band back in 2006. Then in 2008 Another Option signed to indie rock label All About Records known for putting out rookie releases from bands like Tokyo Rose, and records involving members of bands like A Day at The Fair, Auto Pilot Off, A Wilhelm Scream, Ruiner, Have Heart, and more! That same year the band put out their first full-length record titled "The Smokey Trials of 1985" produced and engineered by Grammy nominated George Dussalt.

In 2009 before the guys were even old enough to buy a beer, they were boarding separate flights at Logan international Airport in Boston MA to embark on a three week tour of Great Britain, the bands first International Tour. The tour was a huge success as soon as they got home Ryan Flynn was replaced with current guitar player Matt Dilecce they did a full US tour, from New England all the way to Pomona California to hop on the 2009 Vans Warped tour. On the entire Warped Tour Another Option managed to sell 4,000 copies of their full length record "The Smokey Trials of 1985" in 2009. They performed acoustic, did signings under the All About Records tent and even a historical performance on The Kevin Says Stage in Mansfield MA.

As soon as the band got home from a rigorous three months of non-stop touring with the 2009 Vans Warped Tour they hit the studio to record their latest EP to date "The Great Walk". The EP was produced by Trevor Riley of famous punk band "A Wilhelm Scream" and Engineered by James Whitten know for work with bands like Streetlight Manifesto, A Wilhelm Scream and many more. The art for the record was done by famous Swedish artist Mattias Adolffsson know for his eccentric art on the covers of all most all the Dance Gavin Dance albums.

The record was released on April 13Th 2010 with a CD release show at the Famous Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence Rhode Island. With A Wilhelm Scream as the special guest the show drew over 600 people.Shortly after the release the band hit the road for "The great Walk Tour" from New Bedford MA to San Diego California and the tour was a huge the success. From San Diego the band hoped on the 2010 Vans Warped tour under the Focus Records tent, and on the entire tour was able to sell a impressive 5,000 records. Now the band is home writing another record and preparing themselves for their second UK Tour Jan 6Th-24Th. They are expecting to have another record out this spring, and with no signs of slowing Another Option is a great example of a hard working, successful "Do-it-yourself" band.
