    ENGLISH: ANTAGONISM is an "urban" (death) metal band from middle Italy. They formed in late 2005 when Marco Vitali (ex-CANCRENA guitar solist) asked Marco Ravich (a CANCRENA founder and ex-singer) to write lyrics for some reharsal songs material. After some "not-so-heavy" months of collaboration (they're both experienced and talented musicians), the first demo called "XXI Century" has been released. Clean, recular, never noisy nor confusionary and with a social-politic attitude, the demo has been recorded with a "near-zero-budget" equipment and selfmixed/mastered. The unexpected reviews success by national webzines and magazines encouraged the band to bring new musicians in the line-up: Nicola Parente (ex-CANCRENA/PROSIT/SYMPHONIA) for the bass and Giacomo Scattolini (ex-PORFIRIAH) as drummer they realized fresh materials in short. Meantime, Ravich decided to change the (growl) vocalstyle to a more various and moden (screams based) approach, while Vitali explored the acoustic side. The euphoric antagonist innovation birthed the decision of a cover realization, that could mirrors band characteristics; the Ravich proposal, supported by Vitali with the guilty complicity of the other members, becomed a reality: Adriano "springed-up" Celentano's Svalutation (1976 !). These works has been pubished in different national-compilations and in a 5-way split, that received not bad crirics. Unfortunally Parente forced to quit the venture for family/location problems, and Scattolini started to record with his new band (...). After some local musician casting, Ravich "dusted off" an old-but-apreciated musician (that played with CANCRENA for a short period before Gianni Caralla): Luca Bartolini. The new drummer has specifically engaged to take care and improve of the groove, the band's leak point since that moment. Meanwhile Vitali introduced the young bassist Leonardo Ciccarelli so the band was again "on the scene" in really short time. In the 1st recording session (in Sept. 2007, thanks to the assistance of Nicola Monti and Matteo Francioni of MERCURIA) they fixed the new band line-up style that, mixed by Scattolini - now the official sound engineer, is the milestone to start the new long play work. The first live exibition (October 2007) bringed the band thousand miles far (covered much by the alcoholic-but always safe-drive of Fabio Pierig� [the mythical ex-CANCRENA founder/guitarrist !!!]) that proved both the live attitude of musicians and the alternative sound/content choose apreciation. This convinced Ravich to become the next work menthor/producer; he's planning to release, for some - not only musical - characteristics, an antagonist work. Vitali is the promotional tour organizer instead. In these months we're in a composition stage and, in "practice room listeners' opinion", the (attitude) vein is pumping mutch anger outside... .. ITALIANO: Gli ANTAGONISM sono una band "urban" death metal del centro Italia nata dalle ceneri dei Cancrena, gruppo Death Metal italiano con l'album In The Flesh alle spalle. Quest'album ha ricevuto buoni consensi sia dalla critica che nelle vendite. E' stato infatti demo del mese sulla rivista italiana Grind Zone e miglior album in diverse webzine del settore. La band inizialmente era composta da due soli elementi: Marco Vitali (chitarra, basso, batteria elettronica) e Marco Radosevich (voce). Il primo demo del 2006 XXI Century � stato completamente realizzato dal duo in questione. E' stato registrato e mixato nello studio privato di Marco Vitali mentre la veste grafica del prodotto � stata curata da Marco Radosevich. Il genere proposto � Death Metal chiaro, mai rumoroso o confusionario con chiari riferimenti politici nei testi, dove vengono trattate tematiche riguardanti: inquinamento, corruzione politica, critiche alla societ� contemporanea e al suo stile di vita. Nicola Parente (basso) e Giacomo Scattolini (batteria) si sono uniti agli Antagonism dopo la registrazione del primo demo. Nel 2006 la band ha partecipato alla compilation SGrevolution Vol.1 contenente alcune delle migliori band del panorama heavy metal emergente italiano. Nel 2007 � stato inserito il nuovo brano Politicized nel secondo volume della compilation della SGpromotion SGrevolution Vol.2. e nella compilation promossa dalla webzine italiana Metal Beta MetalBeta Alliance Vol.1. Sempre nello stesso anno la band ha realizzato lo split Extreme Metal Inside con altri 4 gruppi del panorama Death Metal Italiano. Lo split vede fin da subito buoni responsi di critica e viene promosso con un mini-tour che porta le band ad esibirsi in varie parti d'Italia. A met� del 2007 Nicola (basso) lascia la band per motivi di lavoro e al suo posto subentra Leonardo Ciccarelli che subito si integra alla perfezione nel quartetto. Al batterista Giacomo ora anche fonico della band viene anche affiancato Luca Bartolini (batteria). Nel 2008 la band viene inserito un nuovo pezzo nella Akompilation Vol.4 prodotta dalla Akom Production e una loro cover finisce nella compilation Cover For Madness contenente cover di brani celebri riarrangiate in modo particolare. Nel 2011 rientra in formazione Giacomo Scattolini (Batteria). Attualmente gli Antagonism sono occupati nella registrazione del nuovo studio album.
