Things aren't going so well for me at the moment, I've lost my job in London, I've had to sell my car and can't afford my mortgage monthly payments since they went up. Life is a daily battle. It's all basically down to the credit crunch which is making my life a misery. If the credit crunch were a person they'd be repeatedly punching me in the face.
The other day I found a winning scratchcard with £2 on it and with a spring in my step went to the post office to cash it in. To my horror, the competition had closed so I walked back penniless via the bakery pausing to stare through the window and hoping that the mere smell of the bread would suffice as lunch. It didn't. Clutching my stomach I returned home where I was immediately greeted by my cat looking up hopefully at me, I gave her a sorrowful shake of the head and she turned and dragged her thin weak body back to the warm place she'd just left behind.
Thankfully, after counting all the 1p and 2p coins I'd put by in a big jar for a financial storm such as this I found I had £27.56!!! I took myself straight off to Primark where I bought myself a new pair of jeans, 3 stripey T-shirts and a sock multipack. With the remaining £27.14 I stockpiled tuna, pasta and mayonaise and treated myself to a bus ride home.
Then the other morning after I'd finished opening all the final demands and notices of impending legal action I thought "right I've got two options here, one, get really depressed... OR two, get my band 'The Overdrafts' back together and try and cheer myself and the nation up with a song which emanates a small glow of light into an otherwise dark and gloomy room"
Funding was tight and thankfully I got to finish my song and video by the skin of my teeth.. I hope it cheers you up if only slightly. I'm no less broke and no more rich today but battling on with as much optimism as I can find!
