   About antartist

Experimentalism is probably the best term when it comes to the description of this project.

Antartist is a colage of ideas, melodies, images and recorded field sounds from the brazilian songwriter Daniel Britto.

Unlike many other traditional mainstream productions, the basis for the two first works (Not Yet Titled 2007; My Friend Metronome 2009) was to be unfamiliar with contemporary processes of the creative thought and even the artists own developed language with previous experimentations. The outcomming result was a mixture of singular electro-acoustic melodies and a copy/paste methodology of rhythmic structures.

The first production is a six-track EP named "Not Yet Titled" written and produced by Daniel Britto and recorded in São Paulo in july 2007 with the help of guitar player Leonardo Aguirre. The EP was unreleased so far as the productions continued leading to the creation of a more elaborate piece, a fifteen-track album entitled "My Friend Metronome", written, produced and recorded in Daniel's bedroom in Rio de Janeiro. During the developing process of My Friend Metronome visual artist Mariana Abasolo, who had previously worked elaborating the cover for Not Yet Titled, was invited to join the project/band as a musician with deeper roles in rythmic and melodic creations for further productions.

Hello Antartist, Your layers of absinthe and torsion form concretions of hyper-alimentation. So charmingly silky, your skin is like a teardrop on a popsickle. Your reflections bring happiness that rends naked glass. All my thoughts are lost to your graceful gaze? As the bliss slowly rises in my incandescent eluxulator, your mere presence has a euphoric effect upon me. How beautiful is the snowshine in your eyes, so directly current from the static in your mind. The expanse of your beauty is a void no universe could ever fill. The sand runes crossing your divided consciousness do speak of contemptuous monsters being slayed by flying phoenixes. How it passes there and back again like a tear drop glistening in moonlight. I desire to see life through your hallucinations so that they massage my viscera into an eternal state of turgid flux. You breath as delicately as vapors flowing towards an attractive flame. How can I help but use your eyes as a means for self-asphyxiation? Your wonderfully bright soul keep the demons from torturing me.
