Growing up during the '90's hip-hop era, being inspired by the sounds of individuals like Al Green, Stylistics, and Isaac Hayes, and by '80's hip-hop, one musically inclined individual was made. That person is known as Anthai da Protagonist, who has been making music since 1999. He is responsible for bringing the 71Raw name to life. To define who this emcee is, look no further than to his name. "Anthai" (which incorporates his last name "Thai" and also as in "anti") is defined as going against all negativity in life and "Protagonist" meaning to be like a hero that will save you from all the non-sense, meaningless hip-hop music out there today.
To date, he has released three albums: "71Raw Project" (2004), "Anthai Presents The Revival Remix" (2005), and "Ninja Guidance" (2008). On both "71Raw Project" and "Ninja Guidance" albums, he produced 95% of it and 100% on his "Anthai Presents The Revival Remix" album. In addition, he has provided the hard hitting beats for the group as well working as the engineer in the studio, and doing the mix down for all of the 71Raw songs.
However, Anthai is just as much of a musician as he is a producer. As an emcee, Anthai cultivates, writes and expresses his music from his personal experiences -- he's an emcee that definitely does not sound like your typical Vietnamese rapper. But still it doesn't stop there for Anthai: he also helps manage 71Raw. He is responsible for the 71Raw garments and helps make most of the business decisions for 71Raw.
In addition to his resume, he is now doing fashion shows for various Hip-Hop clothing lines. Hosting his own radio show "Raw Radio" with his partners Martial Art, Mic Willy, and Soul Therapist (www.71Raw.podOmatic.com).
