Anthony Cosmo? Not quite known by the paparazzi, PEOPLE magazine or MTV just yet, but known by Boston (the band) fans and a handfull of the music industry, this multi-talented hand- some vision reminiscent of old hollywood charm is about to hand out some serious ear candy.
The first thing one discovers upon meeting Anthony Cosmo is how genuine he is. Now working on different projects such as the "COSMO" Anthony Cosmo son of the legendary rock vocalist Fran Cosmo former lead singer of "BOSTON" has also had the remarkable opportunity to be a member and songwriter of the iconic rock group. To hear Antonio speak about his music, his influences and his accomplishments with such an unassuming composure is refreshing to see in someone of his generation. Shortly after joining the band, Anthony wrote three of the songs on "Boston's" Corporate Amer- ica Record"One of the songs, "Turn It Off", ( an observa- tion on the woes in the Middle East) debuted during and interview with Anthony Cosmo, Fran Cosmo ,Tom Sholz & Brad Delp on the syndicated show, Rockline.
After airing the song, the internet radio broadcasting site, Launch.com (Yahoo!) began using "Turn It Off" for a na- tionwide promotional campaign. The electrons were in motion. Two major headlining tours in 2003 and 2004 followed. In a relatively short time Anthony had catapulted several rungs up the Rock 'n Roll ladder. In between touring with Boston, most of Anthony's time was spent in his private recording studio in his New York home. Writing, playing and self-producing his own music.
Stylistically, the music of Anthony is a major de- parture from the forceful material he wrote for Boston. Anthony's songs are a fusion of influences from the 70's 80's 90's and today's music creating what Anthony calls in his own words, " A global sound." Anthony Cosmo is essentially a one man band having written produced all the songs as well as playing all the instruments. ---"I want to create music that can go in many directions such as Pop-Radio,Television and Movies. A sound that will appeal to different generations."
Since 2003 critically acclaimed singer songwriter producer Anthony Cosmo (ABK) has performed back to back 2003 and 2004 headlining tours as the guitarist and backing vocalist for the band BOSTON. Credits also include writing three songs on the latest Corporate America Record with Artemis Records that reached number 46 on billboard magazine.
Nationally televised performances include performing the star spangled banner for the Boston Redsox, the New England Patriots, and the Fiesta Bowl. Anthony's song Turn it off was the song that launched the beginning of Lauch.com the mega website in 2003. In 2006 Anthony wrote and produced the debut album Alien for the band Cosmo on Frontiers Records which featured Fran Cosmo his father (Lead singer of BOSTON) on vocals. It was hailed as one of the best melodic rock records of 2006 along with My Chemical Romance.
Early spring 2007 Anthony wrote, produced performed and released his third Album titled "Regrets" digitally in Europe and America. Currently Anthony is working on Various projects including a debut solo release.
