ANTHONY'S BIO-- Anthony Wagner was the co-founder of Bleak City, a blues based band. He began playing drums at the tender age of 4, and started playing publicly at age 5. it all started with his first drum teacher Kevin Callanan, who instilled in him the love and enthusiasum and joy for the drums which carries on to this day. He currently studies under drumming great Joe Morello and is the youngest ever to be accepted by him as a student. Anthony also studies under Doug Martin, a Berklee graduate, and renown Atlantic City jazz drummer, and Marc Dicianni, Head of the Percussion Department at The University of the Arts, Philadelphia, and the former drummer for Frank Sinatra. Anthony has also participated in private clinics with Terry Bozzio, Virgil Donati, and Dave Weckl. He is fluent in all styles including jazz, funk, Latin, orchestral, blues, and of course, Rock. He was featured in the November 2005 issue of DRUM! magazine, and has won several drum competitions including the Guitar Center Drum Off and The Cherry's Music drum competition. Anthony has also been very active in charity events, , The National Hemophilia Foundation, The Shelby Richter Irregular Sarcoma Foundation, Cancer Relay for Life, and Alex's Lemonade Stand. Anthony recently played in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, at The Robert Johnson Blues Museum, and was asked to donate a signed pair of sticks to the museum. He has also played such world renown venues including The Stone Pony and Joe Pops in New Jersey, the TLA and The Trocadero in Philladelphia, CBGB's in New York City, as well as The Wiskey a Go-Go and BB Kings in Los Angeles, he and his band mates were the youngest band ever to play these venues. Anthony and his band were also the only band to open for the God Father of Soul, James Brown at the House of Blues in Atlantic City (by request of Mr. Brown, also the youngest band to ever do so ). Anthony's goals are to, tour with top musicians, become a in-call session drummer, and to persue an acting career.............
