Anthony James, originally from Mobile Alabama, now resides in Las Vegas Nevada. He began his musical career as a church musician. Being the son of a preacher man, church was a mandatory thing.
Once off to college, he started to experiment with other types of music and musicians, landing various studio gigs. And from those gigs, he started to tour with such acts as Menudo and Average Joe. He soon decided to work on assembling his own band. Being a passionate writer he had now gained the knowledge and courage to go his own way.
In 1997, in conjunction with other fellow musicians, together they formed 11 Red Apples which went on to create a significant following throughout the state and southern Georgia. In 2000, the band went on to win the 2000 Orlando Music Award for Best Funk and R&B Band, a People's Music Award for Best Improvisational Funk Band and was nominated for a Source Award. After opening for Run DMC in 2001, the band went through a year-long dismemberment.
AJ landed a Margaritaville house gig at City Walk Orlando, never losing sight of his ultimate goal: bringing a talent of voice, piano and bass-as well as writing and performing his own original material-to the masses. That bold venture is what has now become Anthony James.
