About me:
I was conceived at a party in the Briarcliff Mansion in Hollywood in August 1965. During the 1980s with Bryan Foy I co-founded a pop-group called “The Squids,” before heading to Paris to study language and art history. Later, I studied anthropology at U.C. Berkeley, focusing on the prehistory of Polynesia; and then at Simon Fraser University in Canada where I hold a Master’s Degree in archaeology and wrote a thesis on fortifications in Tonga.
It was at this time that I succumbed to an illness particular to archaeologists. How can I put it? There is a moment in the career of an archaeologist when he realizes that, in light of the millennia which make up his daily vernacular, the (optimistically speaking) 85 years which has been allotted him are indeed a flash in the pan. Since this time, I have been living in Germany relentlessly attempting to reconcile the “academic” with the “pop.”
I am author of "The Xenophobe’s Guide to the Californians," "Delusionism," "Plateau," and a novel, "The Cure".
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone on the other side...especially writers, publishers, booksellers, and readers. Anyone who sees beauty in literature and is dedicated to promoting it.
Thanks! I shall keep my larynx lubricated with Bionade. Will definitely look you up if I'm in Frankfurt. Aye, I agree, it's always nice to find another escaped ethnographer running free among the metaphors & semi-colons :)
Anthony, Yes, I AM ever following my muse! How nice of you to ask. And you?! With all the tools available by the internet, I am like a kid in a candy store. I so love the idea of being able to publish my own work. Kind of nice, sometimes, to cut to the chase.=) A spring greeting to you from seattle! (Though it was only 46 yesterday.) cheers, bernadette...

Thanks for being a member of the Worldwide Fiction Writer's Group (http://groups. myspace. com/wfwg). Since October 26, 2006, we've grown from 1 member to 424. Pretty solid growth . . . but until recently, the forum has been fairly unsteady. I'm wondering if you could help me change that, please? Many "newbies" have joined lately and are looking for advice and mentors. You veterans, please stop by and offer advice often and freely. And you "newbies," please drop by often and be thankful for the advice received. Together, let's make 2009 the year of increased activity in the W.F.W.G. forum.
By the way, I'd love to learn more about you (and help you any way I can!). Please feel free to e-mail me anytime at jjhebert@gmail.com (put "W.F.W.G. member:Top priority" in the subject line) or you can join my "Email List" on www. jjhebert. net to learn about me (my novel's coming out in July)! Talk to you soon, and let's make 2009 a HUGE year for W.F.W.G. and all of its members!
As you may or may not know, I turned twenty-five the other day. Instead of gifts this year, I'm asking everyone to join my Email List on www. jjhebert. net. Unconventional, my newest novel, will be published by Mindstir Media later this year, and joining the Email List will ensure that you receive updates regarding my book release, contests, giveaways, and more.
Don't worry Anthony: we will have plenty of desert expeditions coming up, as soon as you return to California that is! I will be sure to dance under the moon just for you. Huntington beach, surf trip 2009! I have all my gear ready. Or so I hope.
Happy New year! Some down time so I get to visit, read what's on various pages. Check our my new project at thordream. blogspot. com. How is your work going?
