| Bio | Since being crowned National Winner of Raw Comedy (Australia’s biggest annual comedy competition), Anthony Menchetti’s star has continued to rise. Chosen to be part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s showcase of rising stars The Comedy Zone (a hand picked selection of four comics from a nationwide search) in 2001, Anthony went on to perform his first Comedy Festival show The Art Of Schmoozing in 2002. He and then-comedy-partner Damian Clark were hastily snapped up by renowned comedy producer Karen Koren of The Gilded Balloon, and The Art of Schmoozing went international – being performed to rave reviews under Koren at the 2002 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
On the success of these shows, Anthony tackled Murphy’s Law in 2003, spawning two shows – One of Those Days (Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2003) and Murphy’s Law, the latter of which was again snapped up by Koren for the Edinburgh Fringe (2003). Both runaway successes in their own right, Anthony’s solo debut created unprecedented industry buzz in Melbourne, and was chosen in Edinburgh as one of the top 10 shows to see by The Times.
To date, Anthony maintains a regular position on Foxtel’s thecomedychannel as both a featured comedian and presenter of comedy-related documentaries and interviews. He has recently returned from performing his latest show ‘Ants Pantz’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he also solo hosted his third documentary for thecomedychannel interviewing some of the UK and Australia’s biggest names. This will air over the next 3 months on the Foxtel and Austar television networks with a weekly audience rating of 1.3 million viewers. Most recently Anthony made it through to the American finals in NBC’s internationally successful TV show; ‘Last Comic Standing’.
Anthony is also a regular comedy columnist for DNA magazine (a glossy cover gay publication available throughout the UK, Australia, America, New Zealand and Canada), and he regularly tours all over Australia in festivals, events and comedy clubs.
He is also available for corporate work and benefits for which he can perform a wide range of performances from stand up, piano playing, any of his past festival shows or for tailor written routines. | | Website | anthonymenchetti.com | | TV Shows | Stand up Australia - Comedy Channel // Postcards from the Fringe - (Host) 2002, 2003, 2006 - Comedy Channel // Anto & Damo's Christmas tips - Comedy Channel // The Art of Scmoozing pilot - ABC TV // Last Comic Standing - NBC U.S.A // Dave Lettermen Auditions CBS U.S.A // Stand Up! - ABC TV // The Comedy Zone documentary - Comedy Channel // On the streets - Comedy Channel 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 // Coming up next - Comedy Channel // Herald Sun Commercial - seven, nine & ten // |
