Anthony St James is a musician and songwriter from Brooklyn, New York. He worked in banking for years and got out in the nick of time, it seems. He returned to college 2004-2007 (BA in English Lit), and also co-starred in an independent film during that period. ASJ (Pisces, March 15) plays guitar, drums, bass, and dabbles in keyboards, in addition to doing all vocals. He has made music in several genres all along the way. Aside from his solo gig, Anthony is a founding member of heavy rock outfit One Above Two Below (see Top Friends). He is also an educator...who escapes the drudgery of city life by retreating to the serene mountains of upstate N.Y. whenever possible during the spring, summer and fall. Indulge his page, if you will.

Influences:

Anthony St James has drawn upon many influences while composing the majority of the music presented on this page. He appreciates almost all sub-genres of rock, including progressive, psychedelia, and roots music--of course. Added inspiration comes from blues, 60s pop, classical and more. ASJ plays the majority of instruments and does all the vocals on these 4-and 8-track home studio demos. He is appreciative of the opportunity to present them here.
