In a business that is full of ups and downs, Anthony Stokes is proving that he can handle the ride. On the grind for nearly six years, Stokes is earning respect as a promising singer, songwriter and actor. Raised in North Carolina, Anthony got involved in the arts early on, performing in local theater, teaching himself piano, playing the trombone, and singing and dancing in his high school show choir. After attending college at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, he moved to Washington, D.C. to work as an on-air radio reporter. Off the job, he hit the local music scene and landed a performing spot on the national dating show "Get the Hook Up" hosted by Russ Parr. A few months later, Anthony beat more than 400 entries in MTV's "Have It Your Way" rap contest. The prize was a starring role in a national Burger King commercial that aired on MTV. After moving to the New York area in late 2007, Anthony took an internship at Bad Boy Entertainment to soak up the business side. He was also cast as "Wesley", the pianist, in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Time of Your Life" at the Shakespeare Theatre. Outside of music and acting, Anthony received the Doublemint Award from Venus & Serena Williams for his work on school violence prevention.
