Sounds Like
Melodic hard rock with an aggressive edge. Stoner rock vibes, a nod to post hardcore and metal. If you only hear one song, you won't get the full picture. The band has been compared to tons of bands...you be the judge.
ANTHROPHOBIA - Half Annihilated from the Ultrasound CD.
Anthrophobia reside in the Reading, PA. area of the USA. The band has released 6 CDs, 7 inch singles, as well as, tracks on tons of compilations. The band's music has been used on TV shows and DVD's such as Steve O: The Early Years, XPW Wrestling, and Amplified Surf DVDs.
The band's sound is heavier and more Rockin' than ever. The reviews of the current CD "Ultrasound" are hailing this release as the band's best. Anthrophobia have shared the stage with thousands of different bands, you've probably heard of a lot of them. From 1996 - 1999 the band was signed to Oxygen/ BMG and toured quite a bit, like Warped Tour 1998, tons of festivals, one offs, and club tours. These days, live the band is better than ever, however, only performing a few more live shows before a HUGE farewell show celebration. After 22 years of ROCK, it's time for the band to retire and concentrate on other things in life. NOVEMBER 24 2007 was the band's last show. Frank re-united many old line-ups and played a 2 hour 50 minute farewell retrospective set that had to be seen to believed. Which is why the 831 people at the Farewell show won't be the only lucky ones.... Look for a DVD release in 2008 which will include videos / live footage/ and a 22 year history lesson of one of the best rock bands in the world. More info at: ANTHROPHOBIA.COM
****Frank Phobia (Vocals) has been active in the music scene for many many years. From writing and playing with 'Phobia to booking clubs, owning a skate park/ club (Wooden Waves/ Sound Waves). Frank has been involved in almost every aspect of music business. Currently, he co-owns and runs drp records and is actively involved in shooting and editing videos for the bands on his roster with film maker Dave Causa. In the recording studio Frank serves as producer for many up and coming local and regional bands working at Akdar studios. Frank also books original shows at The Silo nightclub in Reading, PA. on Friday nights and REXS in West Chester, Pa. . In the past, he has written for many music publications including Jersey Beat and B-Side magazine, hosted a hugely successful radio show RADIO KADNS (with Troy Hinson / WXAC) and hosted a TV Music show called "Flip Your Wig". FRANK IS A HUGE WASHINGTON REDSKINS FAN!
****Brent (Guitar) He claims he plays guitar with the greatest band since the original lineup of RATT hit the stage, ANTHROPHOBIA! Brent joined the band back in 2000. His awesome riffs and style have helped to write most of the bands greatest work to date and he brought a new edge to some of the classic back catalog of 'Phobia material. He is the absolute perfect guitarist for Anthrophobia's vision and vibe. He loves loves chicks with nice feet and bloody, crazy, ECW/XPW style pro wrestling. He is obsessed with the Philadelphia Eagles and almost committed suicide when they lost the Super Bowl. He's a funny guy too, just ask him!
.
****Joe Donato (Drums). Joe (aka 3-D) has been beating the hell out of the drums in Anthrophobia for over 11 years! That's a long time to be staring at Frank's ass on stage, poor guy. Joe has shaped the back bone of the band's recordings and songs since the PULSE (BMG/Oxygen records) release in '97. Joe loves playing ice hockey, watching ice hockey and VH-1 Classics, mowing his massive yard and listening to talk radio. Joe is an avid fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, the Dallas Cowboys, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, and the drumming of Local H's Brian St. Claire. His secret weapon is his alter ego, Pierce Stone...and his amazing imitation of Larry Fine Jr.
****Eric Bess (Bass). The newest member to the Phobia line up, but, certainly not a stranger. Eric was a member of DEAD 50's and way back in the day, bassist of LAST CALL. Eric's former bands used to play shows all the time with Anthrophobia . Frank Phobia also had a long history of promoting shows for Eric's past musical endevoers. Eric has been a great friend to the band a long time, so, playing with 'Phobia has been a great addition to the family. Eric is the owner of BASTARD ON WHEELS, a clothing/lifestyle company for BMX, Skateboarding, Motocross and Rock, Punk and Metal bands...He is also a kick ass Video, Film and DVD Production visionary. Editing, shooting music videos, Extreme Sports footage and live shows. Eric is also a concert promoter in the Harrisburg, Pa. area.
