The Anti-Racists Movement(www.antirasista.net) was started in September 2006. It was started by 5 people with completely different backgrounds, but we all had one goal in common and that is to fight against any kind of racism in Iceland. The founders of the A.F.Movement are divided; 50% are Icelanders and the other 50% are foreigners which have lived here for a long time. Recuiting members has been going quite well, people have been eager to sign up. But we would also like to make it clear, it is not so easy to join our organization. We take interveiws with people which show interest, we do NOT want people, which just want to join us because they might think it's a cool thing to do, we would like to have people which are willing to stand up for what they believe is right and are willing to help out to make our organization stronger. One of the main reason for this organization is to unite people from all over Iceland which would like to have the country without prejudice and together we will be able to have a voice in the Icelandic community.
