Antigone is a fiery dame who sings songs, writes words, dresses up and dances around. Her most recent offering is an 11 track album called AntigoneLand, and a land indeed it is, not very similar to many other lands beside it. The album was produced in London, where she was based for 5 years before recently returning to her home town of Sydney. Before flying solo she was a full-blown dance diva working with Etherfox, the Shapeshifters and [love] tattoo, and before before that she sang jazz and Indian classical. // BIO & THE BEES
Antigone began as Tiggy. She was a hippy love-child raised by creatives on a self-sufficient farm. Later she morphed into a terrible teenager then escaped to the city to try life as a scholar. Somehow she graduated with a first class degree despite spending most of her time not studying, courting a different boy every 3 months and making music singing in a variety of odd bands including one whose only outlet was improvised shows live to air in the twilight zone.
After university Tiggy fully discovered her alter-ego alpha-female Antigone who quickly took control. Training classically, she flexed her newly-found vocal chords as an underground electronica songstress, avant garde classical diva then an ethnomusical adventurer, winding up in Mumbai to study. Upon returning to Sydney she finally emerged as a pop star of sorts with the ARIA nominated 'The Bass Has Got Me Movin' by [love] tattoo and 2 other tracks on the album. From there to Etherfox she became the full-blown disco diva and a collaborator with The Shapeshifters and other dance producers. But moving to London drew out her innate eclecticism and a desire to create something unique and compelling.
Antigone has spent the last few years bringing her uber disco-pop heroine to the fore, performing live on the club and pop circuit (as well as supporting Darren Hayes internationally) and building her peeps organically in anticipation of the release of a most accomplished debut album, 'AntigoneLand'.

The fabulous Top 10 UK Club Hit that graced many a sexed-up dancefloor last summer has landed on Hed Kandi's Disco Heaven 08 (UK), Hed Kandi The Mix 09 (Australia) and the sassiest playlist of all - EMI's futurePOP 2.0 (Australia). Electroflex have been back in the studio following a break from gigging and recording with new track ‘Computer Virus’.
This is the first of a series of new releases for 2009, and what better day to start on than Liz’s Birthday!
‘Computer Virus’ is a live favourite. Anyone forced to work with computers will know how evil they are and this track is Electroflex’s response to Kraftwerk’s ‘Its More Fun to Compute’. It is a bouncy number with a serious bassline, sing-along chorus and a selection of curious samples.
