Now, most people, common people, really... can barely manage to control their own self-centered, myopic existence. They command armies of lawyers, armed with paper weapons, attacking with spiteful, vengeful, cowardly litigation. Others operate within elephantine bureaucracies. And then, there are extraordinary men, those who must identify, comprehend, and ultimately shoulder the responsibility for not only their own existence, but their country's, and the world's as well.

About me:

Give us a read at AntiMuse.org

We've moved our blog. Check it out!

Many nights of drinking alone spawned AntiMuse. Intended as a literary journal for those who don’t like literary journals, we present an irreverent, too-smart-for-those-around-us world view. We question the classics. We mock the literary scene from afar, poking it with sharpened sticks and making fun of its mother. We are Patient Zero, spreading the AntiMuse disease like a syphilis carrier at the swingers’ party. We love extended metaphors involving sex, drugs and music. But not rock, because rock is dead. We try to fit the cliché. We try to break the mold. We’re so confused and conflicted.
Who I'd like to meet:
Authors, writers, poets, photographers, interesting people, musicians, Gene Rayburn.

the world is sick
(part deux)

The current Baby New Year,
the 2008th reincarnation
since "the Chosen One"
(who was later rejected),
was shot out of the wet womb
like a Barnum & Bailey's
human cannonball
as champagne corks soar
high over heads
& in Times Square,
the ball drops, yet again,
counting the last few seconds down
as security forces,
as always since 2001,
stand by on high alert
waiting hopeful for any
possible terrorist threats
to make heroes of them
all the while, the Baby New Year,
is lying naked, in a dumpster,
having been shot thru the safety net,
as all available funds for child care
have been put behind the war effort,
the war on terror
The baby New Year
wonders if abortion would have been better
If as a fetus it could have been
pulled from the uterus,
as this is a world it wants no part of
It would rather the pages of the Julian and Gregorian calendars had been put thru a shredder.

What better way to impress that indie kid with the glasses and tattoos? Let them catch you reading a book.

Prom or Television

Our hearts are sort of conceited;
Our families win decathlons,
Managing a series of hells
Faking locks, riffing off the children, fun secular couples issues,
And Sabbath breakers.

Cult-like Twentieth Century
Resist domineering channels
Went to them both with truce stories
Eric Von Zipper feigns injury so Tommy Kirk
Can meet some bad girls.

Delilah is a cheerleader
With a lunchbox and nice sweater,
Followed by Mike and his sponsors.
Claude's play stays on through Sunday night
And they want to forbid my favorite show, causing anxiety
Cancel my self-hugging.

Okay, I've spent the last 36 hours reading the whole fucking magazine archives. And let me tell you, I'm sick to death of sentimental depressing bullshit, suicides, drunkards, drug addicts, whiners, and fools. Would someone please point me in the direction of a sci-fi story journal with filled with fun ideas and lots of humor?
