FAQ About Our New Location
Where is the new home of AntiquiTea?
Our new building is located in West View, at 454 Perry Highway (Route 19), Pittsburgh, PA 15229. This is only 1 ½ miles from where we are now. We will still be on Perry Highway and will even be on the same side! For those of you familiar with the area, we are going to occupy the building between West View Floral and The West View Savings Bank.
What will parking be like?
All of the parking in West View is free, municipal parking. The lots behind and across from the shop will be available to you for parking. Additionally, any open spot on either side of the street is fine. Any spots that are designated to specific businesses will be marked.
Is it going to be in a house?
Yes! The main structure of the building is an old house. Large additions were added to the building, which will greatly increase our capacity and our ability to accommodate larger parties.
What will your capacity be?
The main dining area will accommodate at least double the number of lunch and Afternoon Tea guests that we can now. Additionally, there will be a separate, private party area which will be able to hold 50 people for special events.
Why are you moving?
While there are several reasons for the move, the biggest reason has always been size. We were simply too small to sustain a profitable business. The new location will be much larger and will allow us to serve a higher volume of customers, without losing any of the charm that you have come to know and love. It will also eliminate many of the problems we have faced due to our space constraints.
Will I still need reservations at the new shop?
At AntiquiTea, we serve two types of lunches, Afternoon Teas and menu lunches. Afternoon Tea will still need reservations because of the preparation involved. However, we are happy to report that menu lunches will no longer require a reservation! We will have plenty of room to accommodate both Afternoon Tea guests and menu lunch guests. You will be free to pop in for a menu lunch anytime we are open!
When will you be moving?
We are closing the current location on April 15th. The new location is still going to be undergoing a major renovation. We project that our grand re-opening will happen in August, 2008. We will keep you updated if this changes.
Please check this site regularly for updates, pictures, and new blogs!
