After almost 10 years and nearly 1000 shows, Melbourne power trio Antiskeptic have decided to finish their incredible journey this September.
And what a journey it has been!
Formed in the back of a record store in 1999, the band quickly rose to prominence through the strength of their energetic live shows and acclaimed recorded material.
Hard working and independent, the band self-financed numerous EPs and albums including Memoirs of a Common Man (2001), Aurora (2003) and Monuments (2006).
Having toured with the likes of Midnight Oil, Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional and Unwritten Law, the band also took great pride in fostering new talent, taking younger groups such as Gyroscope, Kisschasy, After The Fall and I Killed The Prom Queen on some of their first ever touring experiences!
To celebrate the band and its amazing career, Antiskeptic will be giving punters one final chance to see them in action with farewell concerts planned for Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. Queensland and Tasmanian fans will also have the chance to see the boys one last time this August, as they take part in the massive Youth Alive tour that will see them hit every main city centre from the Gold Coast to Cairns then straight back down to Launceston (see myspace.com/antiskeptic for details)!
As a special thank you to fans, the boys have hit the studio to record the previously unreleased, live favourite “I’ll Follow”, and are offering it as a free download from their Myspace profile from Monday 4th of August.
The song is classic Antiskeptic and will serve as a fine closing chapter on one of our country’s premier rock acts.
