Antoine Dufour is emerging as one of Canadas young stars of acoustic, fingerstyle guitar. With a recent Candyrat release «Existence», his third CD of complete original material that was released to critical acclaim, along with appearances and awards at major festivals, Antoine is building a national reputation for innovation and creativity. He has been touring across Canada in 2006 and Scotland and England in 2007 as a member of the International Guitar Night, an all-star evening of the best original guitarists/composers in North America. He also toured United States with Andy Mckee , Don Ross , Craig D'Andrea, Pete Ciluzzi and Eric Turnbull. He also share the stage with his good friend Tommy Gauthier on violin, bouzouki and mandoline.
Dufour was born in the little town of l'Epiphanie, near Montreal. He started playing guitar at the age of 15. He studied Classical guitar at the CEGEP of Joliette, where his teacher made him listen to Leo Kottke, Don Ross and Michael Hedges. His life and his vision of the guitar changed, and since then he has been completely devoted to fingerstyle steel string guitar. His musical style is a mix of the powerful rhythms of rock, the sensibility of classical music, funky grooves, some mellow progressive moods and pure folk melodies.
Dufour competed at the 2005 Canadian Guitar Festival, where he was awarded 2nd prize in the Fingerstyle Guitar Championship and won first place in 2006. He placed third at the 2006 International Finger Style Guitar Championship in Winfield, Kansas. He has appeared in concert and given workshops throughout Quebec, produced a DVD in 2007 featuring himself and Andy Mckee. Dufours style continues to develop, bounded only by his imagination and his technical dexterity. As he says, The acoustic guitar is an instrument which has a very rich sound, and offers infinite possibilities to the player.

Hey Antoine - Thanks for the friendship! Music links us all together.
There are wars taking place in every country in the world. Some are
just more obvious. Check out my new video "Simpler Time". Reach out
and make a difference and the ripple will be felt around the world. It
has to come from within each of us. The alternative is unacceptable.
Music can make a difference. Keep reaching out.
Hi there, I know It's kind of early but I wanted to make sure I get to everyone on my friends list because this is one of my favorite holidays of the year. I am a proud American and the 4th of July is a day to remember all those who have fought and are still fighting for our freedom. While we Sleep They Wake, While We enjoy our bbq's and swim in the pool.. They're defending our borders and eating sand. I salute all the men and women who make it possible everyday for my children and I to live a free life and if you are one of them ~~ From the bottom of my heart I THANK YOU!!! So Please take a moment on the 4th and remember what it really stands for... That Red White and Blue is not just a piece of cloth.. It is a SYMBOL of our freedom and the men and women who fight for it.
Happy Independence Day!!!! ~Kim
I'm Proud To Be An American Written By Lee Greenwood
If tomorrow all the things were gone I'd worked for all my life, And I had to start again with just my children and my wife, I'd thank my lucky stars to be living here today, 'Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can't take that away.
I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, ' Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A.
From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee, Across the plains of Texas from sea to shining sea. From Detroit down to Houston and New York to L.A. , There's pride in every American heart and it's time we stand and say:
I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, ' Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A.
