Antonello Messina è nato a Palermo il 24 Luglio del 1969.
Al suo percorso pianistico e di compositore, cominciato da autodidatta a soli undici anni, ha integrato la carriera di fisarmonicista jazz a partire dal 1997, e di bandoneonista a partire dal 2003.
Per anni si è dedicato ad un'intensa attività didattica come docente presso scuole ed istituti musicali.
Nel 2006 ha inciso il suo album dal titolo “Azyiz”, prodotto e distribuito in Italia e all'estero dalla Label Dodicilune. Il disco vede tra gli ospiti alcuni tra i migliori jazzisti italiani, tra i quali Fabrizio Bosso, Ettore Fioravanti, Luca Lo Bianco.
Ha inoltre partecipato come sideman a diversi progetti discografici. Tra questi:“Sicilian Jazz Collection” (Splash(H) Records); "Perseo o della luce", con il gruppo “Kalsa” (Iktius Jazz); CD live “Bar Casablanca” con Pippo Pollina, Walter Kaiser, Javier Girotto, Luca Lo Bianco; DVD "Live in Italia" di Pippo Pollina, con la regia di Christian Geisler (Videographie.de); Cd "Live at Bazillus " (a Zurigo) con il Trio Lauschangriff; partecipazione al cd di Francesco Buzzurro "Naxos" (Mare Nostrum).
Collaborando con il Teatro Branciforti, ha realizzato diverse produzioni musicali-teatrali.
La sua attività concertistica lo vede esibirsi nei migliori teatri e jazz club europei.

Bio
Antonello Messina was born in Palermo on July, 24th 1969. He started playing piano at eleven years old, as a self-taught. His career as a pianist, arranger and composer was supplemented with his activity as an accordionist since 1997 and as a bandonionist since 2003.
For years, Antonello also worked intensively as a teacher in music schools.
In 2006 he recorded his album “Azyiz”, which was released and is distributed throughout the world by Dodicilune. The album features as guests some of the best jazz performers in Italy, including Fabrizio Bosso, Ettore Fioravanti, Luca Lo Bianco.
Antonello has played as a sideman in a number of albums and projects, among which: “Sicilian Jazz Collection” (Splash(H) Records); "Perseo o della luce", with the band “Kalsa” (Iktius azz); CD live “Bar Casablanca” with Pippo Pollina, Walter Kaiser, Javier Girotto, Luca Lo Bianco; DVD "Live in Italia" by Pippo Pollina, directed by Christian Geisler (Videographie.de); Album "Live at Bazillus" (in Zurich) with the Lauschangriff Trio; Francesco Buzzurro’s record "Naxos" (Mare Nostrum).
He worked in cooperation with the Branciforti Theatre in the staging of a series of musical and theatrical productions.
Antonello lives in Italy and Switzerland, and performs all throughout Europe, in some of the best theatres and clubs.
