Award-winning pianist Antonio Adolfo is among the elite of Rio de Janeiro’s jazz scene, where his talent was nurtured with the Bossa Nova movement of the 1960s. Soon, he was touring with legendary Brazilian singers, including Elis Regina and Milton Nascimento.
Today, Adolfo is a master of Brazilian song. As a teacher – he’s the Latin American Music coordinator for the IAJE (International Association For jazz Education) - and as a world-renowned performer and songwriter. Herb Alpert, Sergio Mendes, Stevie Wonder, Earl Klugh and Dionne Warwick – all have performed or recorded his compositions.
Singer Carol Saboya is Adolfo’s daughter, and with three solo CDs and several critically acclaimed performances in New York, Miami, and New Orleans – she’s well on her way to making her own mark – as her father has done before her. Her debut CD ‘Dança Da Voz’ won Brazil’s coveted Sharp Premio award for ‘Best New Pop (MPB) Singer’.
Recorded in Miami, ‘Antonio Adolfo and Carol Saboya Ao Vivo/Live’ is a timeless jazz recording featuring songs by Antonio Carlos Jobim, George Gershwin, Dori Caymmi and Brazil’s jazz pioneer, Pixinguinha.
Hey Antonio. How are thing going for you? I just was thinking about Brazilian music right now and came to your site. I would love to start lessons soon again and I'll be paying for them. It would be very important for me to get some more jazz lessons and I believe that your the best in town to give them so I will let you know when I get some money together to do so. Take care.
Ouço o batuque superior do Cantinho do Vovô. Toque a vida numa boa, coisa inteira, alto falante, aurora Moraes Moreira, Saravá!

Hey Antonio. Nice job on Saturday with the concert. I really did enjoy it alot. Now I really see the Brazilian style of jazz at work with you and your quartet. Your daughter was amazing as well. Gary Campbell too.
Did you, by any chance, get to listen to my CD yet? I want critique from a professional pianist about it.
