BIOGRAPHY
After touring an average of 220 days per year throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, Antonio Delgado found himself in an uneasy place far from God.
“I had stopped reading the bible. My heart was not on ministry, rather how many people were in the audience and how much money was brought in on a concert night. I thought about how many phone calls I could put in and how many dates I could book in a certain week.”
Once realizing how far he had strayed from the direction God had initially sent him on, Antonio new without a doubt that things needed to change.
“What I was doing was not pleasing to God and my life was in desperate need of refocusing.”
Almost immediately the ministry Antonio had built up came to a complete stop and he began to ask God for forgiveness for his disobedience. Over the next 3 years Antonio grew closer to Christ than he ever had in his entire life. The ability to be in his home church week in and week out provided a much need source of replenishment that he desired.
“I thought I would never sing again when I came off the road. I thought God had taken away my stage forever due to my irresponsible management of his precious gift.  If I am honest, I would say I missed singing, but I was content in seeking God first and moving on to whatever he had for me next. I knew whatever it was; I was not going to mess it up like I did the first time.”
At the end of 2006 Antonio was approached by a church member who had a word from God to deliver after hearing him sing special music during a church service. After receiving the word from this gentleman, Antonio broke into tears as he felt God was finally answering his years of prayers for direction.
As the world entered into 2007 it became clearer to Antonio that God was calling him back into music ministry.
“I just remember telling God that if this is what he wanted me to do, than I could not do it on my own again. Surround me with the people that will not only make my ministry better but make me become a better Christian.”
In the spring and summer of 2007 Antonio recorded a Christmas album in which he wrote the title track for “The Joy of Christmas”. Over the holiday season He performed a number of Concerts and was accompanied by award winning producer and song writer Scott Anderson.
When the Christmas season was done, Antonio found himself in a familiar place of asking the Lord yet again “Now what”. God answered the call by bringing forth a person that Antonio had met briefly during touring almost 10 years earlier, Tim Greene.
In February of 2008 Antonio began the process of recording his first ACC Album in more than 5 years with the Grammy nominated and Dove award winning producer. “Freedom is high energy and full of the love of Christ” says producer Tim Greene.
“It just feels different this time around! I don’t have the worries that I did before because I know that God is in full control. Since learning to trust in him one hundred percent, he has never let me down. God is faithful and I am going to do everything I can in my ministry and everyday life to tell the world about it!”
Antonio has been a part of events and churches in almost every one of the lower 48 states as well as Alaska and Hawaii. He is a former staff writer for the Continental Singers and has seen his music translated into many different languages and sang around the world. When Antonio is not traveling, he is on staff at his home church, Destiny Christian Center, and is a licensed minister.
