Nashville, TN – Have you noticed that there are many venues around the music industry catering to the up-and-coming artists or established artists?
Have you ever thought about the songwriter behind the song sung by the up-and-coming artist?
Maybe or maybe not! Antonio Neal, a Grammy Nominated & Dove Songwriter Winner of Anshar Forever Studios is all about the songwriter and is ready to kick-off his First Annual Writers Block held on June 18th and 19th, 2010 at The Holiday Inn Express in Smyrna, Tennessee.
The two-day event will be tailored specifically around the ins-and-outs of how to become the songwriter from within and what is needed from a business perspective. It’s good that you have the talent to write a song, but it also requires knowledge to get your song recorded and published. The Friday and Saturday line-up will leave you wanting more as we kick-off with Matt Ewald an A&R for EMI CMG Publishing stops by to share his wisdom from the business side. While Jackie Patillo of A&R and Artist Development for Verity/Zomba skills us on the Do’s and Don’ts of pitching songs to artists, music supervisors, and record labels.
The team will discuss topics such as Steps to improve song structure,
How to develop an outstanding chorus
How to expand beyond your comfort zone
How to copyright songs, and many more.

The close of Friday night will be an opportunity for a handful of songwriters to share one of their songs with the budding songwriting community (and yes, that means we all will participate) for positive and helpful feedback. What better way to build a music community than to share an encouraging word with a fellow songwriter? And, if that was not enough Saturday will be focus on the Art of co-writing. This session will be where individuals will be divided into groups, work on a song, applying what they've learned.
Antonio Neal knows that a world class artist is irreplaceable and understands that a well written song greatly enhances that ability.

Antonio says: "I would love to see a community of songwriters come together that would promote and enhance the value and benefit of the unsung heroes of the music industry".
