Anton is originally from the Netherlands but moved to the US when he was young. An accomplished composer and musician, Anton has been writing and recording music since an early age. He released his debut album in April 2007 when he released the album entitled "Dreamer" on the Umbrello Records label based in London. Dreamer continues to get very nice reviews. The music on Dreamer can be categorized as melodic symphonic rock. Anton's main instrument is the guitar but he also loves to compose with keyboards and synthesizers, incorporating various instruments into his music and orchestrations. Anton creates music as one creates a painting, splashing colors and textures of sounds and melodies onto an evolving canvas as the music changes in time. Anton enjoys listening and working with many kinds of music, including classical, ambient, rock, progressive rock, and jazz. He is involved in a couple of projects and is also currently working on his new CD which will be completed some time in 2010. His CD can be purchased at CDBABY (see links on this page). We hope you enjoy his music and thanks for stopping by!
The following wonderful musicians worked with Anton on Dreamer: Rich Berends (Mastermind), Rave Tesar (Annie Haslam/Renassaince) and Charles Descarfino (Broadway and Annie Haslam), and his friend Vinnie Puryear (Bass).
The artwork for "Dreamer" was done by the talented illustrator and artist Michael Phipps. The painting was done on consignment and is based on lyrics from the album.
Check out some reviews of Dreamer here . Below are some excerpts...
".....Dreamer succeeds on so many levels, primarily by not only acknowledging the progressive greats of the past, yet by also remaining firmly entrenched in the sounds of today and more importantly with an eye towards the future as well. If you are a fan of progressive music in any shape or form, then I highly recommend you check out this very impressive debut."

"Refreshing and curious, Anton Roolaart’s new record on the Umbrello label and entitled Dreamer is an adventure in Audiophonic odyssey. Like following Alice down the rabbit hole, Dreamer is a magical mystery that only reveals itself as the listener follows its true path."... This is definitely one of the year’s best albums...
