| About Anup Ghosh |
|
Anup Ghosh belongs to a artistic family. He received his initial training in tabla from the famous tabla player Sri Radhakanta Nandy of West Bengal.
In 1975 he became the student of tabla maestro Pandit Shyamal Bose of Farukkhabad Gharana. In 1981 he was awarded the National Scholarship in Music by the Ministry of Education & Culture of India.
Pt. Ghosh is an ’A’ Grade Staff Artist of All India Radio since 1988.
He has performed as a tabla accompanist with several eminent musicians including Pt. V. G. Jog, Pt. Debu Chaudhuri,
Pt. Anant Lal, Pt. Daya Shankar, Pt. Yashpal, Pt. Amarnath, Shri Shailendra Kr., Shri Ashok Kr.
Anupji has performed in numerous National Programs of Classical Music, Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan, Tuesday Night Concert
, Akashvani Archive’s CD release concerts.
Pt. Ghosh has performed at several Indian National landmarks including Raj Ghat Delhi, President House, Former Prime Minister Late Smt. Indira Gandhi’s house.
He has also taken the part in prestigious Music programs in India like Harballabh Sangeet Sammelan, Tansen Samaroh,
Sangeet Natak Academy Music Festival, ICCR festival, Shankarlal music festival, Doverlane music conference, Bhubneshwar Music festival etc..
Pt. Anup Ghosh also performed before Ex- President of USA Bill Clinton during his visit to India.
Pandit Ghosh holds the distinction of performing in more than sixty (60) countries.
He is also a well known Tabla Guru and a respected Tabla teacher. He had also served as a lecturer at Maharishi University in Iowa, USA.
