About me: My name is Nkrumah Jennings. My workshop is located in Brooklyn, Nw York.
I came into metal work while in Puerto Rico. i was trying to leave the island for venezuela with a friend for and extended unplanned journey through South America. A jeweler overheard us talking about our situation and pulled me to the side and showed me how to make jewelry using gemstones and metal. within a month we were on our way. While in South America I was taught by artists in the streets as we made our way down the east coast toward Bahia.
I decided during this experience that I had a new career in jewelry making.
I started my business using raw unconventional tools. I have kept the aesthetic even though actual jewelers tools are used. everything is made freehandedly. Very little electricity is used all metals and stones are authentic.
Every piece is hand made and designed by me.
Who I'd like to meet: We focus on wholesale. we are primarily interested buyers for retail spaces. We also welcome small retail orders.

Introduction to Silversmithing Workshop with Masani
April 11th 11-4 and
April 12th 11-4 $300 materials included
Now you can learn how to create your own jewelry. At this workshop you will create your own pair of brass or copper earrings and a necklace to go with it. Since the class size is small you will have the instructors undivided attention.
Learn the fundamentals of jewelry design and basic metal skills including sawing, filing, soldering, annealing,piercing, texturing and polishing. Students will learn multiple techniques for texturing and putting patterns in metal. Structure, form and design techniques will be discussed and critiqued. There will be an emphasis on treating jewelry as wearable art.
