Okay, what is this thing all about? Anydoll is about Finnish rock music, best labelled as electro rock. It's about taking two different worlds of music and mixing them to something new, fresh and exciting. Well, just take a closer look to our latest EP Private Show (released 26th of September 2009) and to our new music video Your World (by Jan Andersson) and find it out yourself.
It has been quite a year already. In the spring 2009 Anydoll decided to take part to the national band competition Big Boom. And guess what? We made our way to the final and won the whole battle. It was probably the best damn thing that had happened in Anydoll history. The judges described Anydoll as "a band with it's own look and sound", "a band with vibrant and charismatic live show" and "a nice package of new rock and electronic music". As a a grand price, we played our first ever real festival gig at Kokkola Rock, with a support of numerous top spot bands from Finland.
The first step of "the" Anydoll was in the spring 2008 when we released our previous ep Everything's Fine? The songs were played on national TV and radio in Finland and gained reputation in many other ways too. Anydoll's history goes a bit furher than that, though.
The story started in late summer 2005, when Madd and Chris decided to spent a weekend in a small apartment and drive the neighbourhood mad with an undetermined noise, nowadays known as Anydoll music. The first Anydoll ep, called When the Lines Are Broken, was released in the spring 2007. In the fall 2007 it was time for the single Wash Away the Grief.
But that's all about the past. Now it's good time for you to wear a green tie and take a step closer to the Anydoll's Private Show.
