I arrived in Austin today - looking forward to the shows this weekend. I wanted to be involved with this project because we even heard about Jena way up in Canada, and I think it's important for us to show solidarity against injustice across borders and nations. My heart goes out to the families affected by this tragedy - the best way I know to make an impact is through music & lyrics...I hope the people wake up. One Love.
Art: any medium/sound/word/action which ensures that no one is mistreated and guarantees that those who need the MOST help get the MOST help. Being a part of Any Random Six: Free The Jena 6 Compilation allows me to get a step closer to the above definition of art. It is an honor to be involved with this project, I feel it's my duty to help whenever and wherever I can.
First of all it's a privilege to be on this project and an even greater privilege to be able to come to Austin and perform in support of righting a serious wrong. I personally believe that if we as artists are not using our talents and gifts to improve the deteriorating conditions of our communities and speaking out on behalf of the voiceless than we might as well shut the hell up. In the words of MC LYTE, "what you say to me is just Paper Thin." Peace
Peace and Blessing. Happy New year, Honors to be involve with any Random 6 project. I look forward to blessed and hope lifting time in Austin Texas. KUKU
