Sharon's Interests
General
Writing, reading, movies, theatre, music, art, walking the dog (when I had one) and spending time with a few very special people.
Music
Anything and everything, just about. It depends what mood I'm in. I like Rock 'n' Roll, especially Buddy Holly. I love Darren Hayes and Miriam Stockley's work and voices. I love Beethoven's Fur Elise for Piano and Bach's Toccata and Fugue for the organ. I love Bryan Adams. Honestly though, I love a wide range of music the same way I love a wide range of books.
Movies
All sorts. I love fantasy, sci-fi, action movies, and some romances especially if they're comedy romances. I tend to like unusual things. To list them would be incredibly difficult but to name just a few I have to mention The Legend of 1900, The Princess Bride, Underworld, Harvey, Mirrormask, The Fisher King, I Capture the Castle, Dream a Little Dream and yet this still doesn't give the scope of the range of movies that I love.
Television
Series. I like series. I've bought most of the ones I loved, which include Firefly, Quantum Leap, Due South, I-Man, Brisco County, American Gothic, among many, many others. I like House, and Grey's Anatomy. Good sci-fi or fantasy, drama or a good comedy.
Books
It would be easier to ask who I don't like. I have very eclectic tastes but books I wish I'd written include:
The Gormenghast Trilogy by Mervyn Peake.
The Black Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop.
Wraeththu Trilogy by Storm Constantine.
Heroes
Most of my heroes are real people, real friends. If I mentioned them, I'd probably embarrass them. I love the work of Sam Raimi, Tim Burton, Neil Gaiman among others.
Which ArchAngel are you most like?
Rafael. You're most like the ArchAngel of Healing. You want people to shape up, and you nag. But you mean well, and you're well loved despite it. Or because of it. You bring the donuts even as you tell people to eat more veggies. Take this quiz!
Paper fluttering in a cold breeze
torn from a book.
The knife cutting into flesh and blood seeps
black as a raven
in a tree where no bird can ever sing.
A burning line of fire
blackens branches.
A woman's wailing is the only sound
her face unseen hidden in her stained hands
though the skin is obscene white.
In searing heat from the pit
of his stomach the red flame rose
burning up towards the throat
consuming the heart.
Love and anger at war
has scorched the earth.
The wind dies and nothing stirs.

A writer from the UK, Sharon had her first short story accepted by the second publication to which she offered it. This was entitled ‘Silver Apples of the Moon’ published by Roadworks Magazine. The editor quoted it as accepted due to having ‘both a Sci-fi and horror element, strong on characterisation, and quite literary, in terms of style’. Editor, Trevor Denyer, said that it was a story that ‘had me gripped from start to finish’ and as a result pronounced her as ‘a writer who is going places’. Since then, her work - poems, short stories and articles - have appeared steadily in print and online publications.
Previously, she has kept the erotic side of her writing separate. The genre appealed though as it allows her the freedom to create something more expressive, less oppressive. She firmly believes that having a chance at such ‘free reign’ occasionally reflects favourably in her work. It has always been a part of her personality in that she likes surprising and delighting people.
Subsequently, she has been approached on occasion to write articles such as reports and publicity material, though her focus will always be story telling. She links her most favoured and often most successful work closely to fantasy, though her writing crosses genres. She often thinks about moving but lives primarily in a world of her own.

Who I'd like to meet: Readers and writers. People who love books no matter what their format. Readers who understand how it feels to be lost in another world and writers who know what it's like to create one.
I would have loved to have met Roddy McDowell who, alas, is no longer with us.
Thanks, Sharon! I am, obviously, very sad that he's suffering and I wish I could make it go away, but you would not believe how it plays havoc with my ability to do *anything* when I have to keep popping upstairs every half an hour with tea and sympathy.
I'm a bad person, but I do wish for both our sakes he'd get better soon!
Thanks for the add! I love the look of your page, and your books look very interesting. I am going to see if I can get some on this side of the pond :)
Hello Sweetie. Just dropping by to wish you a great weekend and also to ask you a question.
Could ths gorgeous cowboy fulfil your fantasies?
That's just what Valentina Rava asks herself when she decides to get a bought and paid for date.
It was amazing what you could tell from simply looking at someone, Tina mused. She imagined him pushing her against the fencing that he was currently sat upon. She could imagine him being a demanding lover, impatient to see her naked, under that azure blue gaze of his. His hands would be a little rough from all the work that he did, but that thought filled her with anticipation. How would it feel to have him undo the buttons of her silk shirt? To have the feel of his skin against her own soft flesh?
