Aotea Sound Lab is the studio environment of musician and composer Denton Perry who produces soundscapes and other music via Digital Audio recording software, an Apple MacBook and a MIDI keyboard.
On the player above are some tracks from the EP album the BLACK BEACH (revisited). These compostions are influenced by the power and beauty of the local environment and the black ironsand beaches of Aotea Harbour on the wild, wet and windy west coast of New Zealand where I lived from June 2005 to July 2009.
I have recently recorded the vocal track for La Mia Voce with opera soprano Julia Booth. This track has just undergone final mixing and mastering and has been posted to the main player above.
I am using the MixPod player below to 'air' demo tracks and previews of new work from the Lab. The first of these is an instrumental version of Flatliner with the piano playing the vocal melody.
