I was driving through Pittsburgh the other day, on tour. I drove past the venue where we had the first show of our first tour many years ago.
Since then, I have been listening to nothing but APK and feeling very, very nostalgic. I've been listening to the songs loud, singing along, remembering how I felt when I wrote and played those songs, parts and words.
On a whim, I decided to text the guys with "let's do a reunion." Fortunately and surprisingly, they all excitedly and instantly texted me back at once claiming they were all very into the idea.
A Perfect Kiss is an effect-crazy indie rock band from Annapolis, Maryland. The band has made a name for itself by combining traditional punk/hardcore roots, classic art-rock upbringing, and a few modern-day musical influences while still creating music that has left fans breathless and refreshed. The band delivers limitless song-writing and genre-defying musical collaboration at it's finest. Lengthy and oddly structured songs touched up with intriguing lyrical imagery is what A Perfect Kiss became known for. However, even along with the band's unmistakable committment to experimentation and originality, pop-sensibility still sneaks its way to the foreground without compromising passion and honesty.
APK's newest full-length album "The Olympians" (Point Five Limey Records) is ethereal and emotive, exploring a number of dynamics, moods, vocal styles, tempos, song lengths and lyrical messages. "In Spite Of Angels," the bands debut album (independent), is where APK's reputation for writing powerful and heart-felt songs surely originated. However, "The Olympians" continued this along with increased diversity and experimentation. The new material the band has been working on promises to deliver an extremely evolved version of their trademark sound.
"Take the searing guitar composition and crashing drum work as a sign of its chaos, then marvel in the intricate mix of varied vocal volumes and serrated passages of uncompromised aggression... While applying familiar musical techniques (one could class this as emotionally charged, sonically brutal, yet unexpectedly undefined indie rock/hardcore), it is in their amalgamated state that they explode in a giant ember of passion and understanding. A Perfect Kiss emanates a certain historic, Pangaea-like quality that is strikingly poignant; as if they are some incarnation of spirits centuries ago sermonizing those beliefs of hope, despair, love and tragedy." -Sound The Sirens

Thanks for the add! We just finished new songs with the producer of Incubus, Jack's Mannequin, and Hoobastank. Let us know what you think about "Restless" and "Dark Day Afternoon" when you get a sec. :-) Thanks for being our friend.
Hi A Perfect Kiss.. Thanks for taking the time to listen! Great stuff you have, especially "Rejection as a therapy" I hope the week to come, will be a great one!! Have fun, Josh
I'm feeling ecstatic and incredibly depressed; one that you will be playing your wonderful music again, two because I won't be able to drive 14 hours to see you. gah!
you guys really should play a reunion show in florida at some point cause you have a TON of fans here on the gulf coast. i could garantee i would get at least 30 people myself to attend. i'm super serious! i'll even promote if i had too! ha =)
God I love your music so much, you guys sould seriously get back together sometime in the near future. The vocals remind me of a mi between Thursday and Dredg. Good shit.
