| General |
Aperture strives to be experiential—to engage its readers through a compelling combination of powerful photographs and text. The confluence of disparate photographic sensibilities in each issue poses a range of questions with the hope of illuminating and offering more resonant ways of considering our world and challenging readers’ preconceptions. | | Books |

About me:
Aperture is committed to presenting new and unpublished work by well-known and emerging artists from all over the world, fostering an ever-expanding community of shared interest at a time when the scope and concerns of photography’s impact continues to evolve.
Aperture recognizes that history has proven how powerful photography can be in revealing injustices, often provoking controversy and inspiring action and change. We measure Aperture's success, in part, by the depth and expression of its social conscience, and we continue to be a forum for those photographers who are dedicated to considering the concerns of our time.
Aperture magazine is part of Aperture Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to photography. The magazine was founded in 1952 by photographers Ansel Adams, Minor White, Barbara Morgan, and Dorothea Lange, among others. These artists used their cameras to investigate divergent areas within the medium as well as life itself, and we strive to continue this spirit of editorial freedom and openness in our pages.
