A Perfect Failure was a metalcore/thrash/death metal/screamo band over the years. It all depended on what time frame they were writing in. The band formed in October of 2005 with original members Anthony Sammour, Brian Davidson, Josh Peters, and Travis Tackett. Tony Davidson came in to be front man for a short while, but then his spot was taken by Josh with the addition of Aaron Johnson on drums.
That didn't last too long before replacing him with a friend by the name of Jackson, which was also short lived. Josh realizing that he was the only one who could fill the position of the drummer, stepped down as lead vocals and brought Tony Davidson back in. With the band's line-up finally finalized they continued writing music and shortly after recorded their debut EP 'This Will Be Our Tragedy...'
From there, original guitarist/band founder Brian Davidson left the band to join the army. After about a six month hiatus, Travis Tackett removed himself from being the band's bassist and moved to second guitar. The position was filled by Josh 'Joshbob' Frisinger. This would have come to be the band's official and final line-up.
The band then started writing music for what was later released as 'The Transition EP' but at the time dropped the songs because of wanting to go in a faster and heavier direction. Then began writing for 'The Long Walk EP' which was unofficially released on MySpace in 2008.
Shortly after, the band recorded a cover of 'I Kissed a Girl' by Katy Perry and also filmed a video for it. This probably tripled the band's success, gaining a mass amount of fans who saw the video on YouTube.
After a large amount of shows and a few years of being together, APF decided to part ways due to many different reasons. Upon announcing the indefinite hiatus in June of 2009, the band released 'The Transition EP' along with their earlier recorded video for 'I Killed The Queen'
Over the years, APF has shared the stage with numerous local bands and friends including Delusions of Faith, The Sleep of Reason, Masnema, Hellen Keller, Red Leader, The Aspiration, An Oath In Blood, Illisit and Bloodlined Calligraphy.
They have also shared the stage with nationals such as Psyclon Nine, Mushroomhead, As Summer Dies, Emmure, Genghis Tron, Kittie and Dope. They were also filmed by Comcast and put up On Demand in the Get Local section.
