About me:

The APL Zone - By Teens, 4 Teens is a special place just for teens at the Ames Public Library in Iowa. It is located upstairs in the library and is filled with a lot of fun things and good information. There are books, magazines, and computers in the Zone, and downstairs there are tons of music and movies to choose from as well. The Zone has a lot of comfortable seating to enjoy while studying or reading for fun. There is even a booth to spread out a board game or homework on. We welcome you to come and explore the APL Zone! Share any ideas you have about the APL Zone or any books, movies, or music in the comments section.

Who I'd like to meet:

Any teens in the area! Books, movies, and music lovers are welcome as well! We're big fans of Unshelved too. Check them out at www.overduemedia.com

A poem provided in observance of National Poetry Month.

    Crystal Clear Blue Skies

    Towers weep on peaceful shores.
    Crystal clear blue skies.
Across the water, we answered the call,
    Never questioning why.

Race over the berm and down the road,
    Rebuilding ancient Babylon.
Smiles, waves, and shouts of joy.
Gratuities of hidden fire and roadside bombs.

Blistering sun and mouths full of sand,
White salt stains chalk the skin.
Handshake through a turret gun sight,
    Peace attempted to win.

    Pain, anxiety, disillusionment,
    Seek comfort in each other.
Go back again, one more time,
Only for my sister or brother.

Thanks for the ad. Let me know how your readers like GIVING UP THE GHOST! It’s my dearest wish that its themes of fear, grief, and forgiveness, leavened with humor and gripped by a ghostly mystery, will bring comfort and healing to young readers living with uncertainty in unsettling times.
