Apnia are a female fronted melodic metal band from the south coast of England. With beautiful passages and crushing choruses they will soar you away then drag you down, snapping your neck in the blink of an eye.
Apnia are totally self sufficient having never relied on press or label backing but purely on self promotion, extensive giging and good old fashioned hard work. Having built up a reputation as a solid and professional sounding live band with a wealth of experience, the band have been able to play all over England and Wales with bands such as :
LACUNA COIL, WEDNESDAY 13, LEAVES EYES, KATATONIA, ELIS, OCTAVIA SPERATI, SEASONS END, ATROCITY, THE PROPHECY and TESSERACT to name but a few.
Apnia's 2007 release, the self financed, recorded, produced and engineered E.P. "First Stone Cast", has been sold worldwide, with no label backing but simply due to massive self promotion.
In 2009 Apnia will be joining forces with Constant in Opal/Scamp music publishing in order to publish and distribute the forthcoming album "Weather the Storm".
Apnia will be showcasing the new material from their forthcoming album at all their upcoming shows and are currently searching for management and booking agents to help take the band further.
Apnia are defiantly a band who will not give up on their dreams and will continue to progress and surpass their own harsh critique of themselves. Watch this space.
