Apnia are a band that have been through everything together. The core members of the band, Laura (vocals), Wayne (guitar), Scott (bass) and Ryan (drums) have been playing together for nearly 8 years now. At first they used the band as a release for their emotions and ideas but as time passed and they grew themselves, the band took on a lot more meaning. They realised they were all doing what they love and that it was time to see how far they can take it.
At the start of 2007 Apnia released their first real effort, the self financed, recorded, produced and engineered E.P. "First Stone Cast". The E.P showcased the distinctive sound and songs of Apnia and gives the listener a taste of this bands potential. To date the E.P has been sold worldwide due to massive self promotion and with extensive giging all over England and Wales playing with bands such as LACUNA COIL, WEDNESDAY 13, LEAVES EYES, OCTAVIA SPERATI, SEASONS END, ATROCITY, THE PROPHECY, ELIS and TESSERACT the band have built up a reputation as a solid and professional sounding live band.
At the start of 2008 Apnia were dealt a devastating blow, male vocalist Dan, decided to part ways with the band having just got married. Rather than call it a day the band decided to carry on without him and not seek a replacement. Then after playing more shows, another blow hit the band with July seeing the departure of rhythm guitarist Tom. Within weeks of losing Tom the band sought out other guitarists and continued to write material for their new album, releasing songs "Untold Truth" and the teaser "Weather the Storm". Finally after months of searching, the band finally found what they were after in an unlikely candidate, a blues player, Frank Tidy.
Now back as a five piece the band are out giging again, with Frank putting his unique style on the older songs and the band showcasing the new material from their forthcoming album due for worldwide release in 2009. Apnia are defiantly a band who will not give up on their dreams and will continue to progress and surpass their own harsh critique of themselves.
Apnia have a superb sound, well worth seeing.

Apnia have a good sound and frankly the most epic man on the planet on drums. A band well worth watching out for, I can only see them getting better and better.
