APOCALYPSO is a night at
The Old Queen's Head on the last Friday of every month.
It began in March 2007 as a vehicle for Dekker and his friends to play the freshest beats from across the electronic spectrum, taking in nitro-disco, crunk-house, steroidal party glitch-hop and all sorts of other made up genres. Normally the preserve of the London superclubs and trendier than thou Shoreditch joints, Dekker’s plan was to serve up this kind of mayhem-inducing music in the uniquely sophisticated surroundings of the chandelier-clad top room at
The Old Queen's Head in Islington.
Two years in and Apocalypso has seen a roll-call of London’s hottest new acts on the bill, including
Paul Epworth,
Shir Khan,
autoKratz (Kitsuné),
Duke Dumont,
Jack Beats,
MissOddKidd,
Punks Jump Up (Kitsuné),
thecocknbullkid,
Holy Hail,
New Young Pony Club, and many more. The crowd includes an ever-growing army of regulars who love the chance to wig-out to cutting edge dance music without having to drink nasty overpriced drinks out of plastic cups, or queue for the toilet with a broken door. In short there is nowhere else to get this particular blend of Hoxton’s finest music without dealing with, frankly, the squalor.
If you haven't done it yet, check out and join the Apocalypso family on
Facebook too.
Otherwise, come and visit in human form at the physical venue soon!
