Basics: I've been writing and recording music since my junior year of high school. My first band was a punk band called first The Slackers (yeah, somebody else took that one years later, not that it was such a good name anyway), then Generic Caviar (which sounded like a really good idea to me at the time). My next band was more of a duo called November Fifth, which was a name obviously come up with right after reading V For Vendetta.
For several years, I had a band called Daisy Glaze in Bloomington, Indiana; we got some press in magazines like High Times and Flipside and the Big Takeover, but we were probably better-known around B-ton for our ubiquitous flyering ('DAISY GLAZE NEEDS A DRUMMER' more often than not) than our music. Still, it was a good learning experience, and I'm proud of what we did for the most part.
These days I live in San Diego, and record under my own name. I'm looking to play with other musicians around here though, so if you're into it, drop me a line. I've played with a few other people here and there in the last year or so, so maybe there'll be some upcoming stuff on that front.
I can also be found hanging around the Something Awful forums and elsewhere under the username BetterTasteThnU (sigh, yes, it's supposed to be sarcastic).
And no, I'm not related to Amy Poehler of SNL/UCB as far as I know, but it is a pretty rare name so it's possible, distantly. In any case, it wouldn't be through blood.

I'm from Bloomington, and I remember the "Daisy Glaze Needs a Drummer" signs! In fact, I believe you might remember a couple friends of mine were in Daisy Glaze - Jeremiah and Keith?
I read some of your blogs and found them pretty interesting. I'm more of a marvel guy myself, but anyone who has enthusiam for comics is cool with me. Thanks for the request.
