This is about as official as a//political on myspace gets. I decided to do this since this year will hopefully finally see the release of the Discography (and maybe a reunion?). Check it out, check it often, I hope to add old essays, artwork, photos, etc... you can also hear the unreleased stuff we recorded with our last line up. if you have any old photos, any of our old communiques or show flyers, lyric sheets, anything, get in touch, we are trying to collect stuff for the discography!
A//Political was an anarcho-punk band from Baltimore M.D. During the mid to late 90's. Their style is similar to that of "Peace Punk" bands from the early 1980s and was heavily influenced by anarcho-punk bands like Crass and Conflict. Members were involved in the Crasshole Collective and the Anarcho-Punk Federation (A.P.F.).
Oi pessoal...

go to shows. I go to release aggression. The world sucks. I gotta vent somehow. So I go to hardcore shows and beat the crap out of other people who are there for the same reason, while they beat the crap out of Me. And it's beautiful.
B. Who's in the front, back, pit and wherever else.
Whenever I go to shows I generally see a rather homogeneous mixture, though that, in and of itself, isn't evidence for anything anyway.
2. The idea that rape is sexist.
Rape is selfish. Inconsiderate. Fucked up. I could put a lot of adjectives in there, but "sexist" isn't one I see as a fit. First of all, that ignores all males victims of sexual assault [many of whom I've known through the punk scene] and all non-male perpetrators of sexual assault. Also, I don't see how people came up with the idea that rape is sexist. If I were to beat up a female CEO and take her money, would that be considered sexist? It's the same concept. Violently taking what you want from someone else with total disregard for their feelings. Sexism doesn't [inherently] have anything to do with it.
I'm pretty sure there were more things I disagreed with, too, but, this is just off the top of My head.. Anyway, I see the Anarchist and Punk communities as becoming more and more matriarchal and anti-white male. I see white males constantly being censored, generally by themselves, so as to not step on any toes, without realizing they're stepping on their own. I see people "stepping up and stepping back" either because they have a lot to say or because of the way they were born. And that's ridiculous. It's exactly the kind of thing we claim to be fighting against. I constantly see the exaltation of femininity and the condemnation of masculinity and the widespread sentiment that that's OK. It's not.
Yeah, I do, sorry...1. I was in a hurry when I posted that and 2. I didn't really know if anyone checks your page very often and didn't really know how effective actually explaining My sentiment would be. But I've been thinking about this for a while and there are several things I disagreed with in that blog, however, saying that I could not disagree more was certainly a reactionary statement and I'm sorry for that.
Also keep in mind that I'm in a different scene at a different time and know entirely different people, so, what I'm saying may be more applicable here than it is there. Something else I realized after commenting.
That being said, My disagreements are with
1. The idea that the punk scene is a microcosm of the macrocosm and therefor exemplifies the same problems.
In my experience, while some problems do carry over and exist in the punk scene as well as mainstream society, the punk scene tends to have a whole different set of problems and is mostly void of the patriarchal, white supremacist bullshit we see other places. [And I suppose most of my other disagreements are really extensions of this one.] Is the labeling of the punk scene as simply a microcosm of a macrocosm meant to imply that you've never been part of a truly egalitarian community? I have. We lived without gender or race or any other oppressive social constructs. We were just friends and lovers. That's how I came to be an Anarchist. And I am continually shocked that more people [Anarchists, especially] have not experienced that.
A. The idea of macho violent dancing [first of all being a problem at all...But you already addressed that...But more importantly,] being a problem on the part of men.
I see all sorts of people moshing, thrashing, whatever. And, I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth, but the idea that boys should watch out so they don't hurt the girls is absolutely sexist. Also, the violence is probably the main reason I
