Apollyon truly formed in 2008 from Ellesmere Port when Glen Brazier and Gareth Owen decided they could make a colossal effect on the local metal scene. The band originally formed in 2006 releasing their first EP The legion of pain inspired by a variety of influences. Together these influences created a unique blend of heavy riffs, dynamic drumming and militant vocals delivering rarity to the existing metal scene.
In 2008 after solid performances around the local scene supporting an array or different bands a change in personnel was made injecting a more positive belief into the band. James Roberts was introduced on drums providing more intricate complex styles of drumming giving them an extra edge to their music, and also consistency to their live performances.
In 2009 Apollyon released their self titled EP, after months of sheer dedication rehearsing and then recording at Ferndale studios. The EP attracted an incredible amount of interest from existing fans and promoters around the UK giving them the chance to perform at bigger venues. After a long time fabricating the perfect sound Apollyon are ready to progress even further, continuing to shock with a compelling, convincing individual sound.
