Sundiata Hashashim Zayd Acoli has a documentary entitled A POWER Sun coming soon. Brother Acoli was reared in a small Texas town. He grew up in a world of segregation, as he graduated high school at age 15. Also by 15, he was enrolled in college at PVAMU (TX). He graduated w/a BS Mathematics at age 19. He moved to CA & worked for NASA. Neil Armstrong was one of his NASA co-workers and they took Graduate Math courses together. He worked for various computer corporations. His eyes were opened to the Civil Rights struggle in 1964. He joined the Black Panther Party in 1968 in NY, where he became the Lt. of Finance for NY. His continuous struggle to liberate his people was unceasing. He was arrested April 2, 1969, along w/other comrades, which famously became widely known as the Black Panther 21 Conspiracy case. Upon being released on erroneous charges set by COINTELPRO, he worked to educate the oppressed through the Black Liberation Army. While in route out of state, NJ State Troopers pulled Acoli and his comrades (Sister Assata Shakur & Brother Zayd Malik Shakur) out of his car. A horrific shoot out ensued that led to the death of Brother Zayd Shakur and the near-death of Sister Assata Shakur. Brother Acoli managed to escape entrapment for 2 days before he was caught. After unfair and racist trials, both he and Assata Shakur were sentenced in seperate trials to life + in prison. Sister Shakur was liberated and emancipated from prison and Honorable Fidel Castro gave her political asylum. Brother Acoli remains in the prison pits of hell where he is singing his songs through the concrete walls via his comrades. A decision was made to film a dramatic documentary about the TRUTH about the life events of Brother Acoli. Many comrades are pulling together and reaching out for this film. This film also enlightens its audience about the climate of the New York Chapter of the Black Panther Party. Many of the rank in file members of the Party are involved with this dynamic epic. A Field Up Productions presentation. Sister Dawn McGhee and Sister Rita Acoli are owners of the company. Film is scheduled to be released in 2009.

this is going to be a really powerful documentary. sundiata is such an incredible human being, a brilliant theorist and a committed dedicated strugglah for change, a film about his life can not do anything but clarify the political situation in this country for people and inspire them to action!
