Appalachian Bluegrass Music Shoppe has been in Catonsville, Maryland since 1960. A family run business, our main goal is for the overall enjoyment of acoustic music. We offer lessons in Guitar, Fiddle, Banjo, Mandolin, Lap Steel and Ukelele.
The Chesapeake Bay Guitar Project Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 17 from 12pm to 4pm here at the Appalachian Bluegrass Shoppe.
Stop by and meet the Luthier, Dave MacCubbin, and just talk guitars. In addition the folks from the Chesapeake Bay Foundation will be here to share updates about the health and recovery of the Chesapeake Bay. A generous portion of the Project's will be donated to support the work of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
The Chesapeake Bay guitars are uniquely designed to showcase the natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay in the hope to raise awareness of the importance of restoring the bay to it's original splendor. Each instrument was handcrafted using the finest woods available by Maryland luthier David MacCubbin. The custom fingerboard and heastock inlays depicting scenes from the Chesapeake Bay were created by artist Craig Lavin.
