A.M.Q.A. was a Washington based harcore punk band that released their debut album, 'Mutant Cats From Hell', on the EverRat label, marketed and distributed on the Medusa label in 1988. Previous releases include a 7" EP on Subcore Records titled "Cats are Neat" and a 12" split LP recorded with the Dehumanizers that was never released. The band split up in 1989 shortly after touring in support of "Mutant Cats from Hell". AMQA played to hardcore fans all over the US and Canada. Favorite places to play included the Ratz Nest in Victoria B.C. and Pine Street Theater in Portland, Oregon. We were regulars at the Community World Theater in Tacoma, Washington. We loved to play with our labelmates the Dehumanizers. We recorded several of our recordings in Seattle, WA at Tom Dyer Studios. Young, loud and fast!!!

Good to hear from you. What have you been up to? Are still on the west coast? I'm currently living in Brooklyn and teaching writing at an art institute called Pratt. It's pretty cool. Brooklyn is just like an overgrown Tacoma with a lot more diversity and easy access to Manhattan.
