..Formed in early 2007, The Apples began with nothing but the desire to entertain themselves and others. They quickly developed a solid musical chemistry and recorded a six-song self-titled demo. Along with serious gigging and a first place performance at a Springfield, MA battle of the bands, the guys realized that they could do much more with the group.
As soon as 2008 hit, the guys were back, writing and recording new material, which ultimately became their self-produced demo, "Apples on Campus." From the solid foundation of bassist Dan Rogan and drummer David Slitzky to the Euro-funk guitar styling of Kai "Nancy" Wilson, the band found its uniting force in the melodies of vocalist Dru Sanders. Demo in hand, The Apples returned to their first true love: performance. The Apples live to perform, whether in the student center at their school or the Webster Underground in Hartford, CT, the group makes it their business onstage to put on an unforgettable show.
In 2009, the group charted a record number of shows, playing out as much as possible and trying to make a dent in the local scene. The hard work paid off, and the shows gave the band an opportunity to further refine their chemistry and sound while creating long-lasting connections with local musicians and promoters. With more new material in the bag, the band headed back to the studio, this time emerging with two EPs slated to release in November 2009.
With high energy onstage and on CD, The Apples capture and retain the attention of any audience with the promise of a fun, lively, and incredible performance.
