Apply the Brakes are a young and upcoming band hailing from York, UK. By crossbreeding their Scouse and Brummy roots with a poke in the face from da blues, the band create a soul-jacking tour de force as self-proclaimingly exciting as a petrol and fire-eating chimp.
The band formed at York University in 2007 with the intention of providing a youthful and modern alternative to the raft of pseudo-rock-indie-fancy-laptop-wielding types knocking around.
Highlights include recording a live session for the BBC's More Raw show, headlining the University’s Woodstock 2008 festival to a crowd of over 1500 student-types, playing at the University Gradball and eating Ash's rider. The ball has been kept rolling with plenty of gigs in and around the York area, at venues including Fibbers, The Duchess & City Screen Basement.
