Alisa Apreleva is a Russian singer, poet and composer, who works in the style of "art-symbolism", as she defines it herself, - “the symphonious synthesis of music, lyrics, scenic image and personality of the performer. The song emerges from the image - musical and textual, and only later, after a series of inspirations and continuous intellectual effort, just as any other knowledge, the poetic and musical completeness appears”.
Alisa works in a wide variety of genres: from rock to jazz to authentic folklore to music theatre to film music, to name a few. Her most recent music, written for vocals and three cellos (one of which is played by Alisa herself), though, is a completely unique sounding and emotive experience to anyone who listens to it. It is a strange, atmospheric mixture of classic, rock, ethnic and sacred elements, which takes you beyond the point of just listening to the music and gives you a chance to go for a mystical journey toward true yourself. The release of the new Alisa’s album is planned for 2010.
The recent Alisa Apreleva's album "Ad Libitum" is the "ideal demo" of Alisa's works in different styles and projects, including both studio and live records, as well as two video clips taken at a live concert in Moscow, March 2006. The complete album can be downloaded for free at Alisa’s web-site (http://apreleva.com).
