Dreams and Fears, Fr.Ray Foundation
by April Maciborka
Dreams and Fears, Fr.Ray Foundation is a newly published book I have made about an Orphanage in Thailand. Each portrait is accompanied with their own personally written dreams and fears. Here is a sneak preview of some of the images. The book will be on sale via internet by November.
About me: My interest in art started at a very young age. After going to an arts highschool, I had discovered that photography was the medium that drove my passion. Luckily Westside Studio, a major Advertising Photography Studio in Toronto accepted me as a full time assistant for all the photographers within the studio. There, I became a freelance assistant within the walls of Westside. After witnessing my potential and drive to learn, Photographer Hasnain Dattu took me under his wing as his second assistant. There, I learned everything and anything I could about photography, printing, dealing with clients, and working with stylists, makeup artists and all sorts of production people. After a fantastic learning experience with not only Hasnain Dattu, but photographers, George Simhoni, Ian Campbell, Russell Monk, Chris Gordaneer and Janet Bailey I decided to go to Sheridan College for Applied Photography to test myself on what I had learned. Since graduating I have continued to assist freelance as well as shoot for myself.
I have also dedicated the past two years to travel within Asia, to build on my travel portfolio and of course discover and experience another part of the world.
Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to meet all kinds of artists, whether they are part of the photography business, a musician, a model, stylist, makeup artist or painter......you name it, I want to meet them all.
